Asunción: Represented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the Sultanate of Oman today took part in the 19th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Convention on Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage, currently being held in Asunción, Paraguay. The meeting will run until 7 December 2024. According to Oman News Agency, Oman's delegation is headed by Sayyid Said bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture. The meeting will discuss the international committee's action towards the conservation and documentation of intangible cultural heritage. It also looks into evaluating files nominated for registration on the Convention's lists.
