Oman International Food Safety Conference Underscores Public Awareness, Research

Muscat: The 7th Oman International Food Safety and Food Quality Conference and Exhibition concluded today, emphasizing the importance of raising awareness to discover food fraud and using artificial intelligence (AI) in related fields of research, development, and innovation.

According to Oman News Agency, scholarly recommendations issued at the conclusion of the three-day event highlighted the necessity to build capacities, enhance research cooperation, and develop actions to improve food safety and quality.

The conference, held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in Muscat Governorate, was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources in cooperation with government departments and private sector establishments.

The event also underlined the importance of building capacities in the field of food risk assessment and encouraging regulatory bodies to use relevant criteria as a basis for decision-making, in cooperation with the Arab Section of the International Organization.
