Milan:The Sultanate of Oman made a significant impact at the Milan Global Pharmaceutical Exhibition (CPHI Milan 2026) by participating with eight national pharmaceutical factories. Oman ranked fourth among Arab countries in terms of participating companies, joining 51 companies from 11 Arab nations. This participation led to the signing of four agreements and memoranda of understanding.
According to Oman News Agency, one agreement involved Dhofar Pharmaceutical Industries Company partnering with Iraqi Hydrogen Oncology Pharmaceuticals to establish a specialized oncology drug factory in Raysut Industrial Estate, located in Dhofar Governorate. Dhofar Pharmaceutical Industries Company also signed a memorandum of understanding with "Felix" Pharmaceuticals to advance industrial integration and leverage available production capabilities.
In the field of technology transfer, Jordanian Sana Pharma and the National Pharmaceutical Industries Company signed a memorandum of understanding to exchange technical files for drugs and manufacturing expertise. Another agreement focused on transferring technology for manufacturing a new diabetes treatment drug to Algeria, demonstrating national companies' drive to export knowledge and pharmaceutical technologies.
The exhibition also featured two manufacturers specializing in active pharmaceutical ingredients "Al Wajer Pharmaceuticals" and "Pen-G General Integrated Industrial Company."
Oman's presence was organized by the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, along with several national factories. This participation aimed to showcase Oman's manufacturing and investment capabilities, explore collaboration opportunities with international companies in pharmaceutical manufacturing, and promote technology transfer and export initiatives.
