Muscat: Represented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and in cooperation with Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), the Sultanate of Oman will host the 35th conference of the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information (AFLI) from 12 to 14 November 2024. An elite group of Omani specialists and Arab experts will participate in the conference, which is titled 'Role of Arab libraries and archive institutions in promoting citizenship and digital identity'. According to Oman News Agency, the conference offers an opportunity to highlight pioneering models and exchange ideas on upgrading the efficiency of libraries and archive institutions as basic sources for developing intellectual awareness in society. Key challenges facing these institutions in their pursuit of establishing a digital environment that respects privacy and optimizes the use of data will also be addressed, with a focus on utilizing vital resources and modern technologies. The conference will include workshops and discussion panels aimed at exchanging experiences and innovations. These sessions are designed to highlight related trends for achieving sustainability and supporting individuals and institutions.
