Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman is set to host the OTS 2025 Technology Summit on 20 and 21 October 2025, providing a platform for exploring the role of artificial intelligence in transforming education and research. According to Oman News Agency, the event is organized by the Research and Education Network (OMREN) and hosted by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. The summit aims to provide new insights and motivate practical recommendations for the advancement of education and research at the national level. It emphasizes global practices in utilizing AI technologies to enhance the quality of education and improve the efficiency of academic and research systems. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with specialists from the technology and education sectors through interactive sessions, workshops, and technical presentations. These sessions are designed to showcase success stories and experiences in leveraging artificial intelligence. A key feature of the summit is the AI -based hackathon, known as Gemathon. It will gather students, innovators, entrepreneurs, and researchers from various parts of Oman, offering a competitive environment to develop digital solutions aimed at achieving digital transition and sustainable development goals. The Gemathon will focus on four main tracks: smart education and learning technologies, research and digital analysis, educational sustainability and inclusiveness, and entrepreneurship and institutional innovation.
