Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion today received Douglas Alexander, Minister of State for Trade Policy and Economic Security of the United Kingdom (UK). During the meeting, the two sides reviewed growth indicators of intra-trade, as well as means of boosting trade exchange and investments. They also underscored the importance of pressing ahead with the negotiations for the free trade agreement between the GCC countries and the UK. Moreover, the two ministers discussed several matters of mutual interest. Al Yousef pointed out that the UK is a main strategic partner of Oman, especially in light of the growing economic relations between the two countries. Further, the two sides discussed means of enhancing investment cooperation and encouraging direct investment in various fields, as well as utilizing available investment opportunities.
