Muscat: The 16th session meeting of the Oman-UK Working Group convened in Muscat today. The Omani delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while the British delegation was headed by Hamish Falconer, Minister of State for the Middle East.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting focused on reviewing the current state of bilateral relations and exploring ways to enhance cooperation to meet shared objectives. Discussions covered a range of joint initiatives in cultural, tourism, educational, vocational training, environmental, and renewable energy sectors. Additionally, the delegations exchanged perspectives on regional and international developments.
The meeting saw participation from Munthir Mahfoudh Al Manthiri, Head of the Europe Department at the Foreign Ministry, Abdullah Hamad Al Riami, Head of the Cultural Cooperation Department at the Foreign Ministry, Dr. Liane Saunders, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Sultanate of Oman, along with several representatives from relevant government units.
