Omani Foreign Minister Engages in Diplomatic Talks with Chinese Middle East Envoy

Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, received Zhai Jun, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government for Middle East Affairs, in Muscat today. The meeting focused on reinforcing the robust bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the People's Republic of China, highlighting their shared commitment to expanding partnerships and joint projects.

According to Oman News Agency, the discussions extended to regional and international developments and their associated challenges. Both parties reiterated their nations' support for dialogue and diplomatic initiatives aimed at fostering peace and stability. They emphasized the importance of addressing the root causes of tension and conflict through peaceful means.

The discussions also underscored the significance of adhering to international law and the United Nations Charter. The two sides stressed the need for political solutions to crises and the importance of ensuring the freedom and safety of maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, Liu Jian, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Sultanate of Oman, and several officials from both countries.
