Muscat: Omani photographer Ahmed Al Hosani has won first place in the inaugural edition of the Doha Photography Award, in the "Emotions" category, for his artwork titled "Escape." According to Oman News Agency, this victory came amidst a global competition that saw participation from 5,206 photographers from 101 countries, who submitted a total of 27,663 images across six categories: Qatar, Colors, Story, Black and White, Emotions, and the Junior category. The Doha Photography Award is one of the prominent cultural initiatives as it celebrates the art of photography and honours talents who use their lenses to convey human stories and impactful visual expressions.
