Oman’s Strategic Participation in Milan Pharmaceutical Industry Exhibition 2026

Milan:The Sultanate of Oman is engaging in the Milan Pharmaceutical Industry Exhibition 2026 in Italy with a focus on drawing significant investments into the pharmaceutical industries, medical devices, and supplies sector. The event also provides a platform to showcase the investment opportunities available within Oman's special economic zones, free zones, and industrial cities.

According to Oman News Agency, the Omani delegation is led by Eng. Ahmed Hassan Al Dheeb, Vice Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ). Al Dheeb emphasized the Authority's objective to offer a detailed overview of the investment environment to international companies interested in establishing or expanding operations in Oman’s economic zones. The initiative aims to build an integrated ecosystem for pharmaceutical industries, enhancing pharmaceutical security and attracting specialized global investments.

The strategic location of Oman, along with its advanced infrastructure and logistics, offers easy access to regional and international markets. Salalah City for Pharmaceutical and Medical Industries and the pharmaceutical cluster in Khazaen Economic City are highlighted as promising opportunities for companies to localize manufacturing, storage, distribution, and export operations.

Lubna Mohammed Al Harthy, Director of the Export Development Department at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, stated that Oman's participation aims to boost the presence of Omani pharmaceutical and medical products in global markets and open new export channels. She noted that Oman's pharmaceutical and medical product exports reached approximately RO 26.5 million in 2025. The focus is now on expanding target markets and building partnerships to sustain export growth and enhance in-country value.

The participation in the exhibition is part of a broader strategy to attract specialized investments and strengthen supply chains in the pharmaceutical sector. The event is facilitating direct sessions and meetings with international companies and investors to explore new partnerships and review the latest technologies in the pharmaceutical industry, supporting the localization of advanced industries and knowledge transfer.

Plans to establish specialized industrial clusters for pharmaceutical industries in special economic zones are underway, with significant areas allocated in Salalah Free Zone and Raysut Industrial City. The exhibition serves as a global platform for Oman's delegation to engage with companies, investors, and decision-makers in the pharmaceutical sector.
