The Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) today held its 4th meeting of the year (2024). The meeting was chaired by Dr. Ali Masoud Al Sunaidi, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones. The meeting discussed a number of topics related to economic zones, free zones and industrial cities supervised by OPAZ. The board agreed to grant incentives within the rental value of Al Mazunah Free Zone, renewed the existing incentive package in Al Buraimi Industrial City and allocated 1 percent of the total annual production to mining and quarrying companies operating within the boundaries supervised by OPAZ to contribute towards the development of the local community. The board also approved Khazaen Economic City's applying service fees that are endorsed by OPAZ and prescribed in Decision No. 63/2023, in tandem with other areas supervised by the Authority. OPAZ board looked into a semi-annual report field about its activities for t he year 2024, during which the volume of investments in those areas stood at RO 20.1 billion. Source: Oman News Agency
