Ibri: The Ministry of Health today inaugurated the Peritoneal Dialysis Unit at Ibri Referral Hospital in A'Dhahirah Governorate. This qualitative step embodies the Ministry's commitment to providing specialized medical services that meet the needs of the governorate. According to Oman News Agency, the unit has commenced providing its services over the past period, utilizing the latest specialized medical equipment. This has contributed to alleviating the suffering of patients in the governorate. The unit was established as an extension of the kidney dialysis unit, with a built-up area of 128 square meters and a total cost of RO 65,000. It was designed in accordance with the approved technical standards for modern kidney dialysis units and financed by Daleel Petroleum Company. Dr. Ahmed Said Al Kalbani, Director General of Health Services in A'Dhahirah Governorate, affirmed that the inauguration of the Peritoneal Dialysis Unit at Ibri Hospital represents a qualitative addition that contributes to developing the level of specialized treatment services and providing advanced healthcare for patients in the governorate's wilayats, namely Ibri, Dhank, and Yanqul. This, he said, enhances the quality of the provided health services. On her turn, Dr. Dalal Rashid Al Ghafri, Director of Ibri Hospital, indicated that the Peritoneal Dialysis Training Unit at Ibri Referral Hospital contains two rooms for peritoneal dialysis training, along with a number of other facilities. The inauguration of the unit reflects the hospital's commitment to providing high-quality health services and developing healthcare in the community, she added. She pointed out that the establishment of this new unit comes within the Ministry of Health's plan aimed at expanding specialized services and providing kidney dialysis units close to population centers. This, she said, alleviates the burden on patients and contributes to improving the quality of care provided to them. This new project is one of the ongoing health achievements currently witnes sed in A'Dhahirah Governorate. It aligns with the Ministry's approach towards elevating the quality of health services and expanding the scope of modern medical facilities to improve the quality of specialized services across various wilayats. This supports the march of comprehensive health development in the Sultanate of Oman and contributes to achieving the goals of the "Oman 2040" vision in enhancing community health. The inauguration ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Said Harib Al Lamki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs, in the presence of a number of officials from A'Dhahirah Governorate.
