Pharmacists’ Syndicate mourns Dr. Hussein Halawi and family after being killed by Israeli airstrike in Maifadoun

Head of the Pharmacists' Syndicate, Joe Salloum, on Monday mourned the loss of Dr. Hussein Halawi, describing him as 'a distinguished colleague, friend, and a humanitarian of exceptional character,' who was killed alongside his family in an Israeli enemy airstrike. Halawi had refused to leave his land in southern Lebanon's Kfarkela, remaining to fulfill his humanitarian duty, Salloum said in a statement on behalf of the syndicate. The strike, which took place yesterday in the town of Maifadoun, claimed the lives of pharmacist Halawi, his three children, and a relative, when their home was targeted. Halawi's wife survived the attack. Originally from the border town of Kfarkela, Halawi owned the "Al-Shifa" pharmacy. He and his family had sought refuge in Maifadoun, where his wife's relatives reside, as the Israeli assault intensified. Source: National News Agency - Lebanon
