Poll: Absolute support for the President’s speech at the UN General Assembly

Ramallah- Ma'an- The results of the 25th electronic opinion poll, conducted by the International Academic Campaign Against Israeli Occupation and Apartheid, showed that the majority of academics, activists and researchers, 72.03%, are very satisfied and 18.6% are satisfied with the speech of Mr. President at the 79th General Assembly. While 1.5% expressed their opposition to the speech and 3.38% expressed their strong opposition, while 5.33% expressed a neutral opinion. The following statements received the highest levels of satisfaction in the opinion poll: I agree with what President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) demanded in his speech demanding a ban on arms exports to Israel. The approval rate was: strongly agree 85.7%, agree 10.9%. I agree with what President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) called for in his speech demanding Israel's withdrawal from the occupied Palestinian territories within 12 months. The approval rate was: strongly agree 80.2%, agree 13.2%. I agree with what President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Maze n) called for in his speech to provide international protection for the Palestinian people, as the degree of agreement reached: strongly agree 80.2%, agree 12%. On the other hand, the majority of the respondents, academics, activists and researchers, at 81.9%, confirmed that they were exposed to some form of violations and crimes committed by the Israeli occupation army and settler gangs. The results showed that the most important forms of crimes and violations against academics are as follows: The crime of stopping at checkpoints is 51.3%. The crime of preventing movement by 46.1% Genocide crimes in the Gaza Strip by 39.6% House break-ins and searches: 31.4% Family crime by 30.3% House demolition crime at 27.9% Assault crime by 20.3% It is worth noting that the survey included a purposive sample of 524 academics and researchers in Palestinian and foreign universities, and was implemented during the period from September 27-30. The study sample according to country of residence included 50.8% from th e West Bank, 38.7% from the Gaza Strip, 7.6% from Arab countries, and 2.9% from foreign countries. The study sample also varied according to academic qualification as follows: 27.7% PhD or higher, 25.5% Masters, 47.1% Bachelors.
