Jenin - Ma'an - The lawyer of the Commission of Prisoners' Affairs and Ex-Prisoners was able to visit the Damoun prison on Sunday, and met with the two prisoners Anwar Rustum (33 years old) from the town of Kafr Malik east of the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate, who is still detained, and Hana Saleh (36 years old) from the town of Deir Abu Mash'al northwest of Ramallah, who is detained according to an administrative decision. They exchanged conversations with each one of them separately, and they informed her about the situation of the prison and the female prisoners. The Commission presents the following facts about female prisoners in Al-Damon Prison, where (78 female prisoners) are being held, three of whom are from Gaza (Siham Abu Salem and her daughter Suzan Abu Salem, and Asma Shatat), and a third of the total number are administrative detainees. There are also many difficult medical cases that need treatment and health care in civilian hospitals. During this visit, the two sick prisoners were discus sed: Zainab Sajdiya, who suffers from cancer, and prisoner Rana Aida, whose health and psychological condition is still very difficult as a result of her detention, while the two prisoners Nawal Fathiyya and Dana Khoury are being held in solitary confinement cells. As for daily life, the rooms are very crowded, as there are two types of rooms, the large one, in which (10 prisoners) are held at least, and the small one, in which (5 prisoners) are held at least, but the areas of the rooms are very small compared to the number of prisoners, and the temperatures inside them are high and there is no ventilation, which makes life inside them suffering and torment, and only one hour is allocated for the break and shower, and every two rooms are taken out together, and the food is still poor in quantity and quality, and there is a severe shortage of clothes, items and women's needs. The Commission renewed its call to local and international women's institutions and unions to rise up to save Palestinian female priso ners and stop the occupation prison administration's monopoly over them.
