Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is advancing its initiatives to enhance tourism in Dhofar Governorate through promotional activities in prominent shopping malls across GCC cities. The campaign is themed "Your Summer is Green".

According to Oman News Agency, the campaign highlights the Dhofar Khareef (monsoon) season, which is a major tourism attraction period in Oman. Starting on 21 June each year, the Dhofar Governorate experiences moderate weather and lush vegetation during the monsoon. The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism aims to maximize the potential of this season by offering visitors comprehensive information on various tourism experiences, including recreational events, nature exploration, and visits to heritage and archaeological sites.

Additionally, the campaign provides details about direct flight options to Salalah, making it easier for tourists to reach Dhofar's attractions and bolstering its reputation as a prime summer destination. The initiative not only draws visitors from GCC countries but also enhances Dhofar's prominence on the regional tourism map.

The promotional activities serve as a platform to introduce tourists to the attractions of Dhofar Governorate, demonstrating Oman's dedication to developing the tourism sector year-round.

In April 2025, the Ministry launched similar campaigns during its participation in the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai. Dhofar Municipality represented Oman at the event, featuring a special gallery in Oman's pavilion to showcase the highlights of the Dhofar Khareef Season 2025.

In May 2025, the Ministry conducted workshops in Riyadh and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with participation from Dhofar Governorate tourism sector partners, Flynas, and Flyadeal. Daily direct flights will be available to Salalah Airport during the monsoon season.

Previously, the Ministry organized similar promotional activities in Kuwait and Bahrain as part of its strategy to market the Dhofar Khareef Season 2025.
