Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi, on Tuesday welcomed a delegation from the Union of Municipalities of Koura District, headed by Rabih Ayoubi. The delegation was accompanied by the Media Coordinator of the Episcopal Committee for Christian-Islamic Dialogue in the North, Joseph Mahfouz. The delegation briefed Patriarch Rahi on the current conditions of the towns and villages of the Koura district. Patriarch Rahi then received the Austrian Ambassador to Lebanon, René Paul Amry, who paid him a farewell visit upon winding his diplomatic mission in Lebanon. On emerging, Ambassador Amry said that the visit was a chance to talk about various topics, in addition to the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Austria and the Syrian displacement issue. Rahhi then received received the President of the University of Balamand, Dr. Elias Warrak, accompanied by Dr. Elia Elia. Discussions reportedly touched on the current educational situation, especially issues related to higher education at the beginning of the academic year, in light of the circumstances that the country is going through.
