RAK Art Foundation hosts exhibition for Bahraini artists in Baku

Baku, The RAK Art Foundation inaugurated its art exhibition at QGallery in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, showcasing the works of 20 Bahraini artists. The event drew a large number of Azerbaijani art enthusiasts and was attended by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation; Anar Alakbarov, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation; and Farkhad Khalilov, Chairman of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan. The exhibition, running until the end of September, features nearly 50 artworks from various generations and art schools within the Rashid Al Khalifa Art Foundation's holdings. It is part of a broader initiative that includes educational programmes and an artistic exchange announced in May between the Foundation and the Azerbaijan State Academy of Art. Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, President of the RAK Art Foundation, highlighted the significance of the exhibition in promoting Bahraini art and cultural relations between Bahrain and Azerbaijan. He expressed his gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their continued support of Bahrain's cultural scene. He also noted that the exhibition serves to strengthen Bahrain's position on the international art scene and fosters cultural communication through the universal language of art. Shaikh Rashid announced plans for future cultural exchanges, including the possibility of hosting an exhibition of Azerbaijani artists in Bahrain next year and establishing art residency programmes to further develop cultural ties between the two countries. Emin Mammadov, Founder of QGallery, praised the collaboration with Shaikh Rashid and the RAK Art Foundation, emphasising the role of art in fostering international friendships and cultural understanding. He expressed enthusiasm for continuing the partnership and exploring further opportunities for cultural exchange between Bahrain and Azerbai jan. Participating Bahraini artists, including Abbas Al Mosawi, Ghada Khunji, and Hala Al Khalifa, among others, commended the RAK Art Foundation's efforts to promote Bahraini visual art on the international stage and to facilitate cultural communication globally.
