RAO Band Conducts Training Programme at International Music Competition in Scotland

The Royal Army of Oman (RAO)'s Music Band conducted a training programme as part of its participation in an international music competition, being held in Scotland, the United Kingdom, and will continue until 19 August 2024. Knockouts at the international contest will be held in five Scottish cities where music bands from different countries of the world will will compete. The training programme includes showcasing skills at playing musical instruments and presenting different melodies, in addition to military discipline and infantry shows to be held in preparation for the competitions in which the RAO band will participate. Col. Ahmed Salim Al Shukairi, Director of RAO Band, said that the event was an opportunity to demonstrate the high standards of Omani military music, military discipline and the professionalism of the musicians. He added that the gathering allowed members of the RAO band to meet international teams, exchange experiences and gain more skills. 'We look forward to the RAO band winning adv anced places in different competitions in accordance with the new classification set by the organizing body,' said Col.Al Shukairi. He pointed out that the organizing body upgraded the RAO Band's classification due to its excellent performance at the same international competition in 2023. Source: Oman News Agency
