RIA to Launch 5th Research Skills Forum on Advanced Statistical Analysis

Muscat: Acting in partnership with the Arab Open University, the Research and Innovation Authority (RIA) will organize the 5th Research Skills Forum from 8 to 20 August 2026. The forum will see the participation of 100 male and female postgraduate researchers from higher education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.

According to Oman News Agency, the forum is titled 'Advanced Analysis of Statistical Data' and seeks to enable participants to use modern statistical methods in a manner that enhances the quality of research outputs. It aims to improve opportunities for the publication of research papers in peer-reviewed scholarly journals. The forum includes an intensive training programme on the use of Statistical Analysis Software (SPSS) and its applications.

The programme also covers mechanisms for importing data from electronic questionnaires and explores the role of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in advanced statistical analysis. The forum aims to provide researchers with advanced skills that align with the goals of Oman Vision 2040, which prioritizes education, research, and innovation.

The forum furnishes a platform for graduate students and faculty members to exchange experiences, supports cooperation among higher education institutions, and develops the participants' critical thinking and communication skills.
