Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik today issued Royal Decree No. (57/2024) on the ratification of an agreement between the government of the Sultanate of Oman and the government of the Republic of Bulgaria on mutual exemption of short-stay visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, special, and service passports. The agreement was signed in New York on 23 September 2024. According to Oman News Agency, Article (1) of the decree ratifies the aforementioned agreement as per the version attached to this decree. Article (2) mandates that this decree be published in the Official Gazette and will be enforced from its date of issue. The agreement aims to facilitate easier travel for diplomatic and governmental officials between the two nations, potentially strengthening bilateral ties. The initiative reflects a mutual interest in fostering closer cooperation and exchange on various fronts. The removal of visa requirements for certain passport holders can ease diplomatic engagements and official visits, promoting more streamlined interactions. Both countries are expected to benefit from this move in terms of diplomatic relations and potential collaborative projects.
