Muscat: The activities of the "Rural Dhofar 2026" exhibition will kick off tomorrow at Ittin Square in Dhofar Governorate. Organized by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the governorate, in cooperation with the Office of the Governor of Dhofar and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, the event is held as part of the Khareef Dhofar (monsoon) season activities, aiming to support rural women, empower them economically, and enhance the presence of Omani products in the markets.
According to Oman News Agency, the exhibition, which runs until 15 August, serves as a marketing platform bringing together more than 60 participants among female entrepreneurs and productive families from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. They will showcase various agricultural, fisheries, and food products, alongside honey and date products, and cosmetics made from natural materials, reflecting the quality and diversity of Omani rural products.
The exhibition aims to enhance direct marketing opportunities for rural products, increase the income of productive families, and support small and medium enterprises, alongside highlighting the role of rural women as an active partner in achieving food security and sustainable economic development.
The exhibition is accompanied by a diverse program of specialized workshops covering topics of quality and added value for rural products, sustainable production, the "Rural Product" financing program, as well as the role of women in achieving food security, thereby contributing to knowledge transfer, enhancing the capabilities of female entrepreneurs, and developing their projects.
The "Rural Dhofar 2026" exhibition also represents an opportunity for the public and visitors to learn about successful entrepreneurial experiences in the rural sector and purchase local products, within the framework of the Ministry's efforts aimed at developing rural communities, enhancing the added value of national products, and consolidating the concepts of sustainability and economic diversification.
