Manama, Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, the Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs,, and Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, the Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, inaugurated a solar energy generation project at the German Embassy in Bahrain. The event was attended by Clemens Augustinus Hach, the German Ambassador to Bahrain, along with various officials and representatives from related institutions and companies. The Oil Minister affirmed Bahrain's commitment to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and its sustainable development goals. He highlighted Bahrain's efforts to protect the environment and promote renewable energy sources like solar and wind power. He commended the German Embassy's initiative as a significant step towards sustainable energy and reducing natural gas consumption. The Electricity Minister noted Bahrain's rapid progress in transitioning to sustainable energy. He commended the German Embassy's solar panel project for its contribution to sus tainability goals and called for continued partnership and collective efforts towards a more sustainable future. The Ambassador expressed gratitude for the support from Bahrain's ministers and highlighted the strong, evolving relationship between Germany and Bahrain. He emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts to achieve carbon neutrality and noted Germany's long standing use of solar energy since 1990. He also mentioned that the embassy's new solar project aims to reduce electricity costs by 20% and preserve natural resources, complementing other initiatives like the introduction of an electric vehicle for carbon-free transportation.
