South A’Sharqiyah Municipal Council Evaluates Development and Tourism Projects

Sur:South A'Sharqiyah: The Municipal Council of South A'Sharqiyah Governorate convened to assess the implementation of various development projects and service facilities in the region. These initiatives include the horse racing area, A'Sharqiyah waterfront, and the multi-purpose port on Masirah Island.

According to Oman News Agency, the meeting was chaired by Dr. Yahya bin Badr Al Maawali, the Governor of South A'Sharqiyah. The Governorate's Department of Roads presented its achievements, highlighting the completion of the second part of Phase II of Sultan Turki bin Said Road, which connects the Wilayat of Al Kamil W'al-Wafi to the Wilayat of Sur. The presentation also covered the ongoing dualization work from the Gas Roundabout to the Bilad Sur Roundabout and the design and construction of the Wadi Bani Jabir Road.

Council members were informed about the dualization project of the road linking the wilayats of Al Kamil W'al-Wafi and Jaalan Bani Bu Ali Road, as well as the paving of Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan Road. Updates on the Blue Economy Forum in the Wilayat of Sur, the Governorate's hosting of the Royal Cavalry's annual horse race in 2027, and the expansion of parking facilities at the Al Aija waterfront were also discussed.

Additionally, the Municipal Council explored proposals to regulate the winter camping market, organize camping activities at tourist sites, enhance tourism and economic returns, and improve the quality of public services in the Governorate.
