South Korean Ambassador donates advanced technology to Baabda Presidential Palace, pledges continued support for Lebanon

South Korean Ambassador to Lebanon, Il Park, on Thursday visited Baabda Presidential Palace, where he was received by Director-General of the Presidency, Dr. Antoine Choucair, Director-General of Protocol and Public Relations, Dr. Nabil Shedid, Head of the Presidential Information Office, Rafic Chalala, and officials from the Information Technology Department at Baabda Palace. During the visit, Ambassador Park expressed his country's commitment to supporting Lebanon and working together for a brighter future for both nations. He announced the donation of computers, printers, laptops, and scanners from the Government of South Korea to the Presidential Palace. "The Presidential Palace is not only the residence of the President but also a hub for diplomatic relations, hosting foreign dignitaries and heads of state, showcasing Lebanon's commitment to international cooperation and diplomacy. We believe these technological resources will enhance the efficiency of the palace, which is a cornerstone of the country' s political landscape and embodies leadership, governance, and national identity," said Ambassador Park. In turn, Choucair welcomed Ambassador Park and thanked South Korea for its generous donation, noting that the new equipment would strengthen the IT Department of the Presidency, benefit various departments within the palace, and facilitate the adoption of modern technologies for improved efficiency and capacity. This initiative aligns with the ongoing efforts of the Directorate-General to fully digitize its operations, reducing the need for paper documents and communications. Moreover, Dr. Choucair highlighted that despite the challenges posed by the presidential vacancy, the Directorate-General continues its work to stay updated on all files and maintain readiness at the Presidential Palace for the future President. He finally emphasized that South Korea's donation reinforces the bilateral relationship and commitment to enhancing cooperation in various fields.
