Oman convention and exhibition centre: Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, part of Omran Group, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Sohar International bank to host the fourth edition of 'Sports Flame 2026' event. This summer's edition returns with an expanded programme and a comprehensive sports and entertainment experience for all members of the community. According to Oman News Agency, the event will take place from 14 July to 15 August 2026, during which the air-conditioned halls at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre will transform into a vibrant hub bringing together athletes, amateurs, families and children in an integrated indoor environment. This setting enables everyone to engage in sports and enjoy a diverse array of summer activities away from the summer heat. This year's Sports Flame features over 20 sports and interactive activities, alongside tournaments, competitions and entertainment experiences designed to cater to various ages and interests. This reflects the event's ye ar-on-year evolution and its growing prominence as one of the Sultanate of Oman's premier community-focused summer destinations. The programme includes several key highlights, among them the dedicated screening of the semi-final and final matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, allowing the public to share in the excitement of the global tournament within a setting that combines sporting fervour with entertainment. The event also features the "Spark Night of Martial Arts," bringing together enthusiasts of combat sports in a distinctive competitive atmosphere, in addition to "Muscat Night Run," which offers a unique running experience under the lights of Madinat Al Irfan (Al Irfan City). The summer camp for children returns with an integrated programme blending physical activity, learning and recreation, aimed at developing children's motor and cognitive skills while making positive and enjoyable use of the summer break. This partnership further reflects a shared vision between Oman Convention and Exhibition Ce ntre and Sohar International to enhance the presence of high-quality community events, support the sports and entertainment events sector and highlight Muscat as a destination capable of hosting integrated experiences that combine sports, entertainment and community engagement.
