Muscat: The State Council’s Office convened today for its inaugural meeting of the second regular session of the 8th term, presided over by Sheikh Abdulmalek Abdullah Al Khalili, the Chairman of the State Council. This meeting focused on a significant agenda item concerning the Council of Oman Law.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting addressed a communication from the Shura Council expressing an interest in establishing a joint committee between the State Council and the Shura Council. This proposed committee aims to conduct a comprehensive review of the proposal to amend the Council of Oman Law, which was initially enacted by Royal Decree No. 7/2021.
In addition to the primary focus on the amendment proposal, the meeting also covered a range of additional topics. These included various studies and proposals that are currently under consideration, highlighting the State Council’s commitment to legislative and procedural enhancements.
