Supreme Council for Environment develops 27 environmental services

Manama, The Supreme Council for Environment has completed the development and upgrade of 27 environmental services, focusing on enhancing digital accessibility and simplifying procedures. These include 11 services related to environmental control and protection, eight services for environmental assessments and licensing, and seven services for radiation management. These efforts align with Bahrain's comprehensive development process, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the continuous follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. In line with the directives of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to develop 500 services across 24 government entities, these advancements reflect the Supreme Council for Environment's commitment to improving service quality. Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, noted that these developments have resulted in a complete transition to di gital services, reducing application steps to a maximum of four and unifying service information across platforms. These improvements include streamlining waste management licensing and plastic product trade, as well as expediting site inspection requests. The council also introduced online licensing services for projects related to infrastructure, marine works, and industrial activities, further simplifying procedures for investors. Radiation management services have been digitised, covering licenses for handling ionising radiation sources and conducting radiation dose measurements. Dr. Bin Dainah noted that these efforts were carried out in line with the government's digital transformation programme for 2023-2026, adhering to both national and international standards. The Supreme Council for Environment collaborated with several government entities to ensure the successful implementation of these initiatives, aligning with global best practices in digital service provision.
