Damascus, Syrian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Firas Qaddour stressed the importance of cooperation relations between Syria and the Russian Federation, particularly in the field of energy in all its sectors, SANA reported. According to Middle East News Agency (MENA), During a meeting in Moscow on Tuesday with Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev, Minister Qaddour expressed his thanks to Russia, its leadership, government and people, for their support for Syria, noting that cooperation between the two countries has reached unprecedented levels in compliance of the directives of Presidents Bashar al Assad and Vladimir Putin. Qaddour pointed out that the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources is making efforts to reconstruct the infrastructure in the field of extracting, transporting and refining petroleum products that were destroyed by terrorist organisations while they were wreaking havoc on Syrian territory. In turn, Russian Energy Minister Tsivilev announced that the Russian side pursuin g the implementation of previous agreements with the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources and the use of modern technologies and the experience of Russian companies in cooperation with Syria to extract and refine oil and gas.
