Ibra: Ibra Referral Hospital today launched a surgical endoscopy system-a device for urological and paediatric surgery, with support from Oman LNG. The project cost RO 249,635.
According to Oman News Agency, the launch of the system stems from efforts undertaken by the Ministry of Health to improve its services to citizens and residents and to introduce modern technologies that contribute to the realization of high-quality healthcare.
Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jabri, Director of Ibra Referral Hospital and Senior Consultant in Accident and Emergency Medicine, stated that the launch of the system aims to raise the efficiency of diagnosis and ameliorate treatment services rendered to citizens and residents.
The system also offers an opportunity to localize advanced surgical services at the hospital and enhances cooperation with private sector institutions. Dr. Ahmed explained that the surgical endoscopy unit for urology and paediatric surgery would provide its services using advanced methods. The services of the new device would benefit the governorates of North A'Sharqiyah Governorate, South A'Sharqiyah, and Al Wusta.
Dr. Ahmed affirmed that the device would help diminish the number of treatment sessions required, enhance patient comfort, ease pain, minimize transfers to secondary care hospitals, and spare patients the hassle of travelling for treatment.
The inaugural ceremony was held under the auspices of Sheikh Dr. Faisal bin Ali Al Zaidi, Wali of Al Qabil.
