Muscat: Negotiations between the United States and Iran have begun in Switzerland, aimed at reaching a comprehensive and lasting agreement that addresses the issues covered by the memorandum of understanding signed between the two sides. According to Oman News Agency, Qatar, serving as a mediator alongside Pakistan, announced the opening of the Lake Lucerne Summit and the first meeting of the high-level committee, with representatives from the United States and Iran in attendance. Qatar's Foreign Ministry stated, via the Qatar News Agency, that specialised technical and expert groups had been formed to negotiate the provisions of the final agreement. This agreement is intended to cover all aspects of the memorandum. Monitoring groups have also been established to oversee implementation and track progress towards a final agreement, reflecting the commitment of all parties to proceed in good faith towards a comprehensive and sustainable accord.
