Muscat:Ibri: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Ibri has entered into its first research consultancy agreement with Nama Water Services. This collaboration aims to enhance the University's focus on applying research and innovation to tackle real-world issues while expanding cooperative efforts with industry partners. According to Oman News Agency, the consultancy will focus on developing artificial intelligence-based solutions for the real-time detection and location of water leaks. This initiative is expected to improve the efficiency of water network management and integrate modern technologies to create practical solutions for the sector. The agreement was formalized in Muscat, with Dr. Nasser Mohammed Al Kathiri, Assistant Vice-Chancellor of UTAS Ibri, signing on behalf of the university. Eng. Ibrahim Mohammed Al Harthy, Chief Executive Officer for Planning and Asset Management at Nama Water Services, represented the company during the signing ceremony. This partnership reflect s UTAS's commitment to strengthening ties with various sectors and ensuring that research outputs meet the practical needs of institutions and society. It highlights the University's dedication to promoting development through knowledge and innovation.
