Winners Announced for Child Culture Award 2026

Muscat:The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth has announced the winners of the Child Culture Award 2026 in the "Talk So That I May See You" branch. This initiative aims to establish and promote awareness of identity and belonging in children's lives while enhancing their linguistic and educational experiences.

According to Oman News Agency, in the "Talk So That I May See You" competition, Malak Fahd Al Wahaibi secured first place, followed by Al Ghaliya Talal Al Abri in second, Iyad Khalil Al Wa'ili in third, Safiya Ali Al Shehhi in fourth, and Fawwaz Anwar Al Hatmi in fifth. The final qualifications took place at the Ministry of Information Theatre.

The competition targeted talented children aged 7 to 12 years, including both Omanis and Arab residents in Oman. Participants were required to prepare visual content in standard Arabic or the local dialect, addressing topics such as energy, sustainability, and innovation within a three-minute time frame. The event saw participation from 300 contestants, with 50 advancing to the second stage and five finalists competing before a jury and an audience.

The jury comprised four judges, including one from outside Oman for the first time, aiming to leverage international expertise and promote cultural exchange. The award's presence serves as a platform to showcase Omani culture and the creative talents of children.

The closing ceremony, held under the auspices of Basil Ahmed Al Rowas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, also honored winners of the "Oman Tells" competition. This segment, aimed at writers and authors, featured stories linked to cultural heritage and Omani identity. Ninety-six writers participated, with five winning texts selected.

Among the winners, Tuful Zahran Al Sarmi was recognized for "My Father's Blue Shadow," Khadija Ali Al Mufarriji for "The Mountain Lantern," Sarah Ahmed Al Farsi for "Who Opened the Door of Oman's Land?", Aisha Juma Al Farsi for "Tale of a Voice from Oman," and Wafa Juma Al Rashdi for "Salim and the Oud Instrument Coming from the Sea."

The Child Culture Award 2026, supported by OQ Company, aims to foster identity, belonging, and human values in children, enhancing both their cultural and educational development.
