Algiers: The 28th Algiers International Book Fair kicked off with the participation of 1,254 publishing houses from 49 countries. The fair will run until 8 November 2025.

According to Oman News Agency, the event is being held under the theme “The Book: A Meeting Place of Cultures.” It features 290 Algerian publishing houses, 410 publishers from Arab countries, and 554 foreign publishers. Additionally, more than 250 writers and intellectuals from Algeria, Africa, and other regions around the world are attending.

The fair’s cultural program includes 55 events, covering lectures and seminars on the novel and children’s literature. Sessions will also focus on creativity in the age of artificial intelligence, memory and history, and poetry evenings that advocate for humanitarian causes.
