Jerusalem – Ma’an – On Tuesday morning, the occupation forces suddenly closed the Qalandiya checkpoint, north of the city of Jerusalem.
The closure of the checkpoint coincided with the students heading to their schools in the city of Jerusalem, and the employees going to their work, which disrupted the movement of students and employees and prevented them from reaching their schools and work.
The forces deployed in large numbers at the checkpoint and threw gas bombs.
Since the first day of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the occupation forces closed the Qalandiya checkpoint and prevented entry through or exit from it. On Sunday, they reopened the checkpoint, and residents complained of a slow process of searching vehicles, checking the IDs of all passengers, and conducting field investigations with them, explaining that every vehicle is detained at the checkpoint. More than half an hour, leading to a traffic jam at the checkpoint.
In the Ras al-Amoud neighborhood in the town of Silwan, the occupation forces arrested the students in the morning, checked their names, and detained them for several minutes before allowing them to go to their schools.
