Jerusalem – Ma’an – The occupation forces stationed at the Shuafat refugee camp checkpoint, this morning, intensified the careful and slow inspection procedures at the checkpoint.
The residents explained that the occupation authorities deliberately, since the morning hours, followed slow inspection and inspection procedures at the Shuafat camp checkpoint. At the entrance designated for vehicles and buses, the forces stop and search them thoroughly.
Residents added that each vehicle is detained individually and the passengers’ identities are checked, and some are forced to get out of their vehicles for physical and stealth searches on the vehicles, in addition to random interrogations, especially with young men.
As for the pedestrian corridor, the forces also carried out a field inspection and investigation with everyone who left the camp.
Residents pointed out that the forces stationed at the checkpoint suddenly close the checkpoint (for pedestrians and vehicles) for about 15-30 minutes, and this leads to more crises at the checkpoint and disruption of movement.
The parents explained that these measures coincided with the time when students and employees headed to their schools and work.
Residents complained of stifling traffic jams in the camp’s streets, due to inspection procedures at the military checkpoint.
