Social Development Showcases Key Services in A’Dakhiliyah Governorate


A’dakhiliyah: The Ministry of Social Development today presented its strategic programs in A’Dakhiliyah Governorate, aligning with the objectives of the social welfare and protection priority. This took place during the visit made by Dr. Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, to A’Dakhiliyah Governorate, in the presence of Sheikh Hilal Said Al Hajri, Governor of A’Dakhiliyah, and the Walis of the wilayats in the governorate.



According to Oman News Agency, the meeting discussed ways to develop social programs, enhance services for persons with disabilities, follow up on the progress of social programs and projects in various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, strengthen partnership and integration with local institutions, and conduct field visits to closely view the services provided to families and individuals, particularly persons with disabilities.



The visit included a review of existing projects in the governorate, planned construction projects and maintenance works, as well as investment projects, lands available for investment and proposed initiatives. The Minister of Social Development visited the Social Development Departments in the wilayats of Izki and Sumail. She met with the working staff in these departments and reviewed the progress of work, projects and programs provided to beneficiaries. Ongoing projects and future initiatives to enhance the quality of social services in the governorate were also presented.



She also visited Al Wafa Rehabilitation Centers for Persons with Disabilities in the wilayats of Bidbid and Izki, in addition to the site of the new Al Wafa Center construction project in the Wilayat of Manah. During these visits, she observed the services provided to beneficiaries, met with the technical and administrative staff working at the centers, and was briefed on the key challenges and needs.
