Salalah:The Environment Authority, in partnership with Arva Greentech Remediation company, has successfully returned 135 tonnes of sand to its original location on Auqad Beach in Salalah. This initiative comes after the sand underwent complete decontamination from oil derivatives, as part of ongoing efforts to rehabilitate and sanitize environments affected by oil pollution.
According to Oman News Agency, Ali Salim Bait Said, Director General of Environment in Dhofar Governorate, emphasized that the successful treatment and return of the sand marks a continuation of the national authority's dedication to preserving Oman€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¾¢s natural environment and resources. He highlighted the use of modern, innovative, and environmentally neutral technologies as a testament to the authority's commitment to quickly restoring balance to ecosystems impacted by oil pollution.
The treatment operations employed the patented "Arvox SRT ReGen" technology, an environmentally friendly method that decomposes hydrocarbon compounds into safe basic components such as water, oxygen, and carbonates. This process avoids the use of harmful chemicals and ensures that no toxic residues are left behind, restoring the sand to its natural state and making it safe for reintegration into the beach ecosystem.
