His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has received a cable of thanks from President Dr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan in reply to His Majesty’s greetings cable on his country’s Independence Anniversary.


In the cable, President Dr. Shavkat expressed his appreciation for His Majesty’s heartfelt sentiments. He underscored the importance of boosting relations and cooperation between the two countries to achieve the interests of the two countries’ peoples. He also wished His Majesty good health and happiness and the Omani people continuous progress and prosperity.

SAF Chief of Staff Receives Commander of Peninsula Shield Joint Force


Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) received in his office at Al Murtafa’a Garrison today Maj. Gen Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Balawi, Commander of the Peninsula Shield Joint Force and his accompanying delegation.



During the meeting, the two sides discussed several military matters.



The meeting was attended by Brigadier Hamid Avdullah Al Balushi, Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations and Planning, Brigadier Said Zaid Al Habsi, Director General of Administration and Human Resources in the Royal Army of Oman and several officers from the SAF Command.

RAO Commander Receives Commander of the Peninsula Shield Joint Force


Maj. Gen Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) received in his office at Al Murtafa’a Garrison today Maj. Gen Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Balawi, Commander of the Peninsula Shield Joint Force and his accompanying delegation.



During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views and discussed several topics of common concern.



The meeting was attended by senior RAO officers.

Oman Chairs 25th Meeting of GCC Environment Ministers


The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Environment Authority, chaired the 25th meeting of GCC environment ministers.



During the meeting, held at Al Jabal Al Akhdar in the Wilayat of Al Dakhiliyah, Eng. Salim Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals said that GCC countries accomplished many achievements in various spheres during the council’s march, especially in the environment field.



The meeting resulted in several recommendations, including supporting the efforts of the Sultanate of Oman in preserving frankincense trees, among other recommendations.

Oman Participates in 56th Meeting of GCC Interconnection Authority’s Advisory Committee


The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR), in the 56th meeting of the Advisory and Regulatory Committee of the GCC Interconnection Authority (GCCIA), held in Qatar.



Oman’s delegation was headed by Dr. Mansour Talib Al Hinai, Chairman of APSR.



The meeting discussed a range of topics that contribute to enhancing electricity interconnection between GCC states. It also highlighted figures and indicators of exchanged energy, among other topics.

Agreement Inked for Processing Industrial, Hazardous Waste


Oman Environmental Services Holding Company “be’ah” today signed an agreement with Oman SATS company to treat industrial and hazardous waste.



This agreement is part of the government’s efforts to preserve a safe, sustainable environment in accordance with international standards and regulations.



The agreement was signed by Engineer Abdul Kareem Qasim Al Balushi, the COO of Hazardous Waste Operations at be’ah and Siang Tang Tan, CEO of Oman SATS.



Eng. Abdul Kareem said, “Together, we will adopt sustainable and eco-friendly practices to ensure the safe and proper disposal of industrial and hazardous waste in alignment with Oman’s National Waste Management Strategy.”



He also pointed out that this agreement, along with related initiatives, reflects “be’ah’s” concrete endeavors to align with Oman Vision 2040, emphasizing sustainability and a competitive circular economy.



On his part, Siang Tang Tan added that, “Environmental preservation is a cornerstone of sustainability that we aim to uphold in all our operations. We seek to reduce the negative environmental impacts of our operations by following the best local and international practices in industrial and hazardous waste management. We are pleased to sign this agreement with ‘be’ah,’ which will undoubtedly help translate our vision of environmental preservation into action.”



It is worth noting that “be’ah” has entered into multiple agreements with various clients and partners to ensure environmental protection against pollution, in line with the regulations and environmental laws in Oman. The company has also developed an online Manifest system, which obliges companies wishing to dispose of industrial and hazardous waste from their operational activities to properly package and label the waste for safe transportation to “be’ah’s” industrial and hazardous waste treatment facility. The company has established terms and conditions for companies interested in transporting hazardous waste, which must be met through registration on their website to be approved for hazardous waste transportation.

Oman-Italy Joint Military Drill “Jabal Shams 3” Kicks off


A joint Omani-Italian military drill codenamed “Jebal Shams 3” kicked off today at the Republic of Italy.



The exercise, which runs till 21 September 2023, is participated by the Royal Army of Oman (RAO).



A briefing was presented on the preparatory stages of the exercise and its training programmes and practical applications in a bid to achieve the envisaged training objectives.



The exercise comes within the context of annual training programmes conducted by the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), in cooperation with friendly countries to exchange experiences and maintain preparedness
