5.6-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Eastern Russia’s Kamchatka

Amman: An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale struck eastern peninsula Kamchatka, the Russian Federation today. The Kamchatka branch of geophysical service of the Russian academy of sciences reported that the earthquake's epicenter was located 208 kilometers from the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in Kamchatka peninsula, Eastern Russia at a depth of 50.4 kilometers.

According to Oman News Agency, there have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties following the earthquake. The region, known for its seismic activity, is closely monitored by Russian authorities to ensure the safety and preparedness of its residents. Emergency services are on high alert, although no evacuations have been ordered at this time.

Kamchatka, situated in far eastern Russia, frequently experiences earthquakes due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire.
