Uttar pradesh: At least 90 died as a result of a violent storm accompanied by heavy rains that struck the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Television footage showed uprooted trees and billboards torn down by fierce winds during the storm, which blew yesterday, Wednesday. Some of these structures collapsed onto cars amidst dust clouds and piles of debris along roadsides. According to Oman News Agency, storms are common in this northern state during the hot season, which lasts from March to June, before the monsoon rains bring relief.
