The United Nations World Food Program said in a previous statement that it was forced to reduce food rations for families in Gaza to ensure wider coverage for the newly displaced. In early July, the UN program said in a tweet on its account on the "X" platform (formerly Twitter) that "half a million people in the Gaza Strip are facing catastrophic levels of hunger."
