‘Shaikh Isa bin Ali Award for Voluntary Work’ organising committee receives nominee list

Anwar Bu Hassan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Good Word Society (GWS) and Secretary-General of the Arab Union for Voluntary Work, has announced that the jury committee of the “Shaikh Isa bin Ali Award for Voluntary Work” has received the list of nominees for this year’s edition from Arab countries.

He added that the best projects will be selected by the jury according to specified criteria, in order to highlight prominent personalities and present them as successful models to be emulated by Arab youth.

In a statement, Bu Hassan said that 13th edition of the “Shaikh Isa bin Ali Award for Voluntary Work” will honour prominent Arab voluntary work pioneers in recognition of their noble humanitarian role, and the great sacrifices they make to serve their communities, adding that winners will be selected according to the mechanisms and objective criteria set by the organising committee, in co-operation with the Arab Union for Voluntary Work.

He added that the award is keen to honour more individuals and institutions to contribute to promoting voluntary work culture and motivate volunteers to keep up their humanitarian efforts to achieve their noble goals.

Bu Hassan indicated that pioneering Bahrain volunteers, individuals and associations, will also be honoured on the sidelines of the 13th edition of the “Shaikh Isa bin Ali Award for Voluntary Work”, as part of the seventh Bahraini edition.

He paid tribute to His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa for HH’s constant support to volunteers and their distinguished initiatives, which reflected positively on the local and Arab communities.

He pointed out that since its inception in 2011, the award has enhanced Bahrain’s prestigious leading position in the field of voluntary work at the Arab level.
