Manama, The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) and the National Guard have launched a joint aquaculture project. The launch event was attended by Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, the Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs; Lieutenant General Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Khalifa, the National Guard Staff Director; and Rear Admiral Mohammed Yousif Al Asam, Director of Military Cooperation, along with other officials. The Oil Minister emphasised the council's commitment to collaborating with various sectors to protect marine species and promote sustainable development. He explained that the aquaculture project aims to protect and increase fish stocks in Bahrain. SCE will provide suitable tanks and locations for fish fry and eggs supplied by the National Guard, along with live feed, fodder, and other aquaculture costs. The National Guard Staff Director expressed appreciation for the strategic partnership between the National Guard and SCE. He noted that the project exemplifi es cooperation among sectors to safeguard Bahrain's fish stocks. The initiative includes organising courses, lectures, and workshops on marine environment topics to exchange expertise and enhance aquaculture practices. Source: Bahrain News Agency
