The dollar remained stable today, while the yen slightly retreated from its highest level in a month as investors await US inflation data and anticipate a large interest rate cut from the US Federal Reserve next week. The dollar showed little change, trading at 143.10 yen, giving up earlier gains in the session. The Dollar Index, which measures the US currency against a basket of six major currencies, stood at 101.61 after rising 0.4 percent yesterday (Monday). The euro was traded at 1.1039 dollars after a decline of about 0.5 percent on Monday. The Pound sterling was traded at 1.307 dollars after a three-week low of 1.3058 earlier in the session. For other currencies, the Australian dollar was trading at 0.66655 dollars, after reaching its lowest level in over three weeks at 0.66445 dollars.
