Doha: The Sultanate of Oman actively participated in a series of important meetings involving the GCC's trade and industry sectors, held in Doha. These included the 67th meeting of the GCC trade cooperation committee, the 53rd meeting of the GCC industrial cooperation committee, and the ministerial committee for standardization affairs. Additionally, Oman took part in a consultative meeting between ministers of commerce and industry and heads of GCC chambers of commerce. According to Oman News Agency, Oman's delegation was led by Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion. A significant highlight of the meetings was the celebration of a free trade agreement with New Zealand by the GCC ministers of commerce and industry. On the sidelines of these ministerial meetings, Al Yousef held discussions with his counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new avenues for cooperation in commerce and industry. In a concurrent event with the meetings, 30 factories and 12 inventors were recognized for their contributions. Among the Omani inventors felicitated were Sulaiman Khamis Al Khawaldi and Shaima Tahir al Saadi, acknowledging their innovative achievements.
