Muscat: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) today commenced the second edition of its forum titled "Universities of the Future in the Era of Digital Transition and Artificial Intelligence (AI)". The two-day event is designed to strengthen the role of government and higher education institutions in their pursuit of implementing digital transition projects, fostering individual skills, and disseminating knowledge. According to Oman News Agency, the ceremony was inaugurated under the patronage of Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. The forum aims to offer innovative technical solutions that aid in business management, tackle challenges, and drive institutional change. The event gathers 35 specialists from Oman and beyond, featuring several dialogue sessions and specialized workshops that enhance understanding and application of digital technologies in education. These sessions will also explore the main challenges and opportunities for inte grating modern technologies into university settings. In conjunction with the forum, an exhibition will take place showcasing student innovations and models crafted by leading companies in educational technology.
