Muscat: The 20th edition of the Oman Real Estate Conference and Exhibition is set to commence next week, aligning with Design and Construction Week. The event will take place from May 19 to 24 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in collaboration with the Oman Real Estate Association.
According to Oman News Agency, the announcement came during a press conference held by the ministry to reveal the details of the upcoming conference. The exhibition will feature wide-ranging participation from local and international real estate investors, developers, global consulting firms, and experts in real estate, urban planning, and development. This strategic platform aims to showcase prominent real estate projects, explore promising investment opportunities, and foster effective partnerships between the public and private sectors.
The conference also provides an opportunity for prospective homeowners to explore a diverse range of units from real estate developers and examine project details closely. It will address six key themes reflecting Oman's approaches toward developing a modern and sustainable real estate environment. These themes include enhancing the sector's legal and regulatory framework, expanding real estate financing tools, exploring smart and sustainable city models, enabling digital transformation and real estate innovation, and highlighting diverse housing solutions.
This year's conference will announce groundbreaking projects for future cities, opening avenues for local and global investment to pave the way for integrated economic growth. In line with the ministry's commitment to suitable housing options, the conference will witness the signing of several partnership agreements under the "Sorouh" initiative for integrated residential neighborhoods and masterplans.
The initiative currently encompasses 18 projects across 10 governorates, with the first phase achieving a sales rate exceeding 90%. "Sorouh" projects have created over 360 direct jobs for Omanis and benefited over 145 small and medium enterprises, supporting the local economy and reducing infrastructure costs by over 45% compared to traditional models.
The conference will unveil new investment opportunities for developing integrated neighborhoods and masterplans, offering promising prospects for real estate developers. It will attract elite local and international experts and speakers, with more than 40 participants in 10 interactive sessions covering urban development, real estate investment, sustainability, and smart urban planning. The accompanying exhibition will showcase key projects such as Sultan Haitham City and Salalah Future City, alongside detailing the Greater Muscat Structural Plan and "Sorouh" initiative projects.
The event will feature a rich program of interactive events, including live showcases of future urban projects, specialized workshops, an investment forum, and panel discussions addressing challenges and solutions. The conference underscores Oman's commitment to presenting an integrated developmental model within an ambitious national vision.
