Tehran: Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, met today with Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, in the Iranian capital, Tehran. The meeting focused on reviewing bilateral cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran, while discussing mutual interests and exchanging views on various regional and international developments.
According to Oman News Agency, both sides emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination and consultation to enhance regional security and stability, serving the common interests of the two nations. The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials, including Maj.Gen Abdullah bin Ali Al Harthy, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel Al-Maskari, Head of the GCC and Regional Neighbourhood Department at the Foreign Ministry, along with several Iranian officials.
Earlier today, the Minister of Interior arrived at Mehrabad International Airport, where he was welcomed by Eskandar Momeni, Minister of Interior of the Islamic Republic of Iran, alongside other Iranian representatives.
Additionally, the Sultanate of Oman is set to participate as a "Guest of Honour" in the fourth meeting of the Interior Ministers of the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), hosted by Iran, scheduled for tomorrow.
