ROP Celebrates Annual Day with Graduation of Officer Cadets

Nizwa: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) marked its annual Day, celebrated each year on January 5, with a grand ceremony at the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences in Nizwa. The event was graced by Sheikh Abdulmalik Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council.

According to Oman News Agency, the ceremony included the graduation of several batches of officer cadets. These included the 58th batch of specialized officer cadets, the 57th batch of university officer cadets, the 12th batch of service-system officer cadets, and officers who completed the skills qualification and development course. Graduates hailed from various sectors such as the Internal Security Service, Royal Court Affairs, and the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority.

The officer cadets specialized in fields ranging from aviation engineering and maritime navigation to cybersecurity and criminology. Other areas of expertise included logistics, biotechnology, supply chain management, fire engineering, chemical engineering, and command and control as per the Diploma of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM).

The event began with a military salute to the Chief Guest, followed by an inspection of the parade. Graduates showcased their skills through a military march and were recognized for outstanding performance with awards. A significant moment was the ceremonial transfer of the banner of the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences between different batches of officer cadets.

Participants also performed the ROP anthem 'Humaat Al Haqq', took an oath of allegiance, and expressed their loyalty to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, before concluding the parade with a final salute.

The celebration featured a mounted parade by the ROP Cavalry and musical performances by the Royal Oman Police Band. Awards for 2025 were also announced, with North Al Sharqiyah Governorate Police Command winning the Traffic Safety Competition, Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences excelling in the ROP Infantry Competition, and Muscat Governorate Police Command leading in the Criminal Investigation Competition.

In the Security Research Competition on 'Security and Sustainable Development under Oman Vision 2040', Dr. Moza Abdullah Al Maqbali and Dr. Yusra Mohammed Al Mughairy won first place, followed by Lt. Colonel Dr. Ali Khalfan Al Hinai and Khalisa Hamad Al Naabi for their respective contributions.
